In line with the government’s objectives, Labuan Bajo—as one of the priority tourism destinations—is also part of the 3 Key Tourism Areas (KTA) considered strategic, with its development projected to drive broader economic growth in the region./ Developing priority tourism destinations naturally requires support, particularly in the form of investment. Moreover, the direction to develop Labuan Bajo as a Premium Destination reinforces the need for investment in infrastructure, facilities, tourism amenities, the environment, and tourism support services in the region. /BKPM is striving to accelerate investment realization, optimize OSS integration, and resolve investment issues through BKPM’s 6 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
In this context, BKPM is collaborating with the DESMA Center to conduct a Feasibility Study on Tourism Investment Opportunities in the Labuan Bajo Priority Tourism Destination; with the aim of mapping investment potential in the Labuan Bajo Priority Tourism Destination, identifying appropriate cooperation schemes to be developed, identifying challenges faced in investment development, and providing recommendations for their resolution. This study is expected to serve as a guideline for the preparation of follow-up technical documents, particularly for the Labuan Bajo Priority Tourism Destination area.
