Strategies for Developing Tourism and Creative Economy Investments

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, in collaboration with the DESMA Center, has prepared a study on the Strategy for Developing Investment in Tourism and the Creative Economy.

The Indonesian government has undertaken various efforts to revive the tourism and creative economy sectors, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. One such effort involves increasing the value added of tourism and the creative economy to restore travelers’ confidence in visiting the country and to continue fostering a conducive investment climate in these sectors.

This document was prepared to identify a Strategy for the Development of Investment in Tourism and the Creative Economy, which includes: Investment opportunities in tourism and the creative economy, particularly in the five super-priority destinations and Special Economic Zones for Tourism that are the focus of the government’s development efforts; Challenges facing investment in tourism and the creative economy; Resources that need to be enhanced to generate investments in tourism and the creative economy; and Recommendations for tourism and creative economy investment strategies needed to enhance these resources, including those related to investment opportunities that support innovative green investments in the tourism and creative economy sectors.
